What is a domain name?

A domain name is an address, or location, which gives you unique identity and brand on the Internet. Each domain has its own unique IP address, which is used to provide access to those files on the Web, as well as to provide virtual mailboxes, virtual FTP, and other services. Users can enter this address in their web browser (like  Internet Explorer or Netscape) to directly access your web site.

Eg: http://www.abc.com
